Pumpkin Beauty – How To Acclimatize To Fall
Pumpkin spiced lattes have landed in our hands, sweaters have replaced crop tops and it’s time to go shopping for another pair of cute boots… Are you a fall lover or hater? It doesn’t matter! With the arrival of a new season, we change our habits and daily schedules; and our beauty routine should be no exception to this! That is why I could not be more excited to go through all the steps we need to follow when adjusting to a (colder) season. From skin and body care to makeup, I will cover all the pumpkin beauty basics in today’s blog post. If you want to be prepared, follow along 🙂
1. Eat Smear your pumpkin
When summer is over, your skin might have built up a few extra layers of dirt. With sunscreen and exposure to direct sunlight, your skin might need to freshen up with a few extra care steps. Beauty masks are perfect for this! On the market you can find a lot of masks that contain fruit acids which are ideal for exfoliation. Alternatively, you can create your own! Here, our trusty pumpkins come to the rescue and are perfect for DIY recipes: just mix yogurt and fresh pumpkin puree in equal parts with a tablespoon of honey. Yummy I know, but resist temptation! This will be your mask and not your dinner 😀 The results? Bright! Pumpkin contains, to mention just a few, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. These smoothen out and brighten up your skin, helping with cell regeneration, fighting acne and much more.
2. Eat Apply your pumpkin
We cannot deny that the changing colors of nature are our primary source of inspiration when it comes to makeup in fall. Warm, earthy tones attract us more than ever during this season. This is what I call pumpkin beauty inspiration 🙂 For fall I suggest two makeup looks that can be achieved in a short amount of time and require minimal effort. If you want to be super precise with the application of your lipstick, use a lip-pencil, too.
First: the “Golden Hour” look. Do it like this:
- Blend a terracotta brown shade that complements your skin tone in the crease and under your eyes;
- Apply a warm, deep golden color onto the eyelid;
- Apply a burnt orange lipstick. Extra tip? Finish it off with a touch of clear lipgloss!
The second is the “Fall misses Summer” look. I never neglect my bronzer during the colder months and neither should you! Do it like this:
- Leave your eyes nude (apply some mascara or just curl your lashes);
- Pack on a good amount of bronzer (leave the blush alone but add a touch of highlighter);
- Wear bold burgundy lips. Extra tip? Statement earrings would look divine in combination with this makeup style.

3. Eat Bathe in your pumpkin
In fall, it is even more important to take care of our skin and hydrate it properly. When the colder months come knocking, they bring with them some unpleasant downsides besides the temperature drop. In fact, humidity levels also drop and the cold, dry air is responsible for removing moisture from our bodies. As a result, our skin loses some of its ability to retain that moisture. So if you enjoy long baths (where maybe you drop your favorite pumpkin spice bath bomb), make sure you hydrate immediately after. Thicker and richer creams are essential in this period, not only for your face, but for your body, too. Look for a formula that contains shea butter or some sort of oil for a super moisture boost, e.g. avocado, jojoba, almond or coconut.
The ultimate pumpkin beauty tip of the day? Use pumpkin oil to hydrate your skin after your bath or shower! Did you know that pumpkin seeds are rich in fatty acids and provide deep moisturization for a longer time?
To sum up, fall is one of my favorite times of the year, and pumpkin beauty routines make it even more fun. What is your favorite pumpkin beauty tip or product? Let me know in the comments below!
